Jeff Goldblum is an odd one; after appearing in some of the biggest movies of the '90s in a variety of nerdish roles, he just decided to not do that anymore. The last decade has essentially seen Goldblum turning up in a bunch of small roles, bit parts and cameos - rarely will he commit to anything that takes longer than a couple of days to shoot. But he has signed on to star in Independence Day 2, the long-awaited sequel to Roland Emmerich's White House-exploding '90s blockbuster, almost 20 years after the original. You have to wonder what it was about this particular project that had Goldblum convinced, especially since Will Smith - who co-starred in the first picture - has stated that he will not be back to reprise his own role. Still, who cares? Independence Day 2 will mark a huge comeback for Goldblum, who has been sorely missed on-screen for a long ol' time.
