9. Nicolas Cage
There's an ongoing debate in the film buff circles about whether Nicolas Cage is actually crazy or not. Going by sheer performances alone, one might be prepared to accept that the guy is just good at playing insane, but looking at his troubled personal life uncovers a whole other side to the story indeed. Despite being one of the most prolific and highly-paid actors in Hollywood, Cage is frequently in debt due to his ridiculous spending sprees, having lost four homes to foreclosure and owing the IRS a sizable sum of money as a result. Cage has also been involved in a bunch of clumsy drunken incidents that have been widely documented in the media, as well as some domestic abuse and disturbing the peace charges. He bought a pet octopus hoping it would help improve his acting somehow, and he ended up naming one of his sons Kal-El, as in Superman. Can it get any crazier than that? We're only at #9, folks...
