John Francis Daley played FBI profiler Dr. Lance Sweets on the Fox hit Bones for seven years. Daley was a comedy writer on the side. He earned himself a writing credit on the 2011 hit comedy Horrible Bosses.
In 2014 Daley was offered the directing job on Vacation 2015, a sequel/reboot of the iconic 1980 classic National Lampoon's Vacation. A directorial debut was an opportunity Daley couldn't simply pass up. Vacation 2015 was a critical flop but a commercial success. It made $107 million at the box office on a budget of $31 million. Daley went on to direct the 2018 hit Game Night, proving that his career transition was a great idea.
