Having portrayed one of the central characters of Netflix's The Innocents - not to mention a part in Mary Queen of Scots under his belt - it's safe to say that Guy Pearce is well and truly riding the wave of success in Hollywood as of late.

Before he was a leading man, however, Pearce featured on Neighbours between 1986 and 1989, playing a character named Mike Young. While soaps have always been popular, the '80s are a time that Neighbours fans fondly remember, as it was one of the soap's most significant - and most celebrated - eras.

This means that, unlike some of the other entries on this list, much of the world is aware of Pearce's stint on a soap - not least of all because his character often featured alongside the likes of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.

While Mike Young remains one of Pearce's most renowned roles, Neighbours isn't the only soap he featured on as, after departing from the series in 1989, he would go on to appear in Home and Away.
