6. Elizabeth Banks
Films of 2012: The Hunger Games, Man on a Ledge, People Like Us, Pitch Perfect, What to Expect When You're Expecting Talk about underrated actresses, who has been better in the past few years than Elizabeth Banks? To look at her filmography in 2012 is to see an eclectic performer who welcomes all challenges. From comedy to action, it was in "The Hunger Games" where she becomes almost unrecognizable in a detestable role as Effie Trinket. She even tried her hand at producing with the well-received film "Pitch Perfect." But, her best performance came from the horrible film "People Like Us," in which she rises above the mediocre script and shoddy directing to give an earnest and touching performance of single parenthood. In 2013, she is slated to be in the comedy anthology, "Movie 43", and the Hunger Games sequel, "Catching Fire."
