10 Actors Who Distanced Themselves From What Made Them Great
3. Robert Pattinson - Twilight
From one teen heart-throb to another and Robert Pattinson's shunning of the Twilight series has been an ever-present narrative on the internet from almost the very first moment he glistened in daylight.
Donning a similar routine to that of Sean Connery, Pattinson admitted that the only thing he had in common with Edward Cullen was the fact that he 'looked a bit like him' and when poked into revealing what special item he chose to steal from set after filming had ended, he simply replied 'my dignity'.
That doesn't exactly sound like a man who relished being an immortal blood sucker, does it?
To further hammer home his reluctance to be associated with anything in that vein again, Pattinson began to only take on roles that challenged people's idea of who he was as an actor and earned widespread acclaim for his portrayals in films such as The Lost City of Z (2016), Good Time (2017) and The Lighthouse (2019).
He's now set to fully immerse himself in another moody hero in the form of Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves' The Batman, so could this finally be the character that banishes all traces of vampire from our memories?
