10 Actors Who Had No Idea What Was Coming Next

9. Sean Connery - Thunderball

When offered the chance to step into a pool with an uncomfortable amount of very real sharks, it's not hard to see why most human beings would be a little reluctant to take up said invitation.

Sure enough, even though the studio had gone through the trouble of installing plexiglass panels in the pool which would prevent the deadly fish from attacking the 007 leading man in Thunderball, Sean Connery still wasn't over the moon about sharing a shot with his underwater co-stars. That's precisely why director Terence Young decided to keep Connery in the dark about the fact that they didn't have enough plexiglass to completely keep the sharks contained, with there ultimately being about a four-foot gap in the panel.

Inevitably, when it came time to shoot, one of the sharks only went and found a way through this aforementioned gap, leading to a very much authentically startled Connery bricking it when the fish got within touching distance. In the end, the shots were too good to leave on the cutting room floor, so Connery's legit underwater dread was shown off in cinemas all over the world.
