In 2007's Fantastic Four sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer, Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) is fatally impaled by Doctor Doom (Julian McMahon), and though she is eventually brought back to life by the Silver Surfer (Laurence Fishburne), it's still a scene which actress Jessica Alba can't stand.

Alba explained in a 2010 interview that director Tim Story's less-than-savoury notes on her performance made her question her entire place in the industry:

"[Story said], 'It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.' He was like, 'Don't do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.'"
"And then it all got me thinking: Am I not good enough? Are my instincts and my emotions not good enough? Do people hate them so much that they don't want me to be a person? Am I not allowed to be a person in my work? And so I just said, 'f**k it. I don't care about this business anymore."

Naturally no actor giving it their all in a scene wants to be told that their raw emotions aren't "pretty" enough, or to let a VFX house do the heavy lifting in post-production, so her frustrations are certainly understandable.
