The Brothers Bloom is an eccentric film in many ways, with its two main leads trading wits and emotions over its runtime. Rian Johnson's blend of comedy and heartfelt moments made this crime caper a unique watch.
When it came to creating the characters however, they needed to be very versatile throughout the production. This spoke to their broad personalities. Rachel Weisz was cast fairly early on, feeling it would be a worthy diversion from her many dramatic roles.
Weisz took on a tremendous amount of work for the film, aiming to portray Penelope's many skills with as great an authenticity as possible. In this case, the piano was the main instrument on display.
