10 Actors Who Never Get The Praise They Deserve

9. Timothy Spall

timothy spall Much like Macy, Timothy Spall doesn't look like a movie star and he's never going to be a Hollywood leading man, but he is one of the world's finest actors. Best known for playing Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter series, he brought a slimy, desperate intensity to the films and his performances were one of the most enjoyable things in the whole series. To a slightly older audience, however, Spall will always be synonymous with Barry from Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, a role which launched his career and made him one of the most popular stars on tv. Despite the success of the show and the later acclaim he received for his performance in Mike Leigh's Secrets & Lies, he's very often forgotten when it comes to the discussion about Britain's best actors. Much of his best work has come on TV as his performances in Jimmy McGovern's The Street and The Fattest Man in Britain are some of his finest. But, with the exception of Secrets & Lies and The Damned United, most of his film work comes in smaller supporting roles that don't get recognition. Timothy Spall is one of Britain's finest and most dependable actors, but with his preference for tv and smaller movies, he's also one of its most underrated. Top 5 Movies:
1. Secrets & Lies 2. Sweeney Todd 3. Life is Sweet 4. The Damned United 5. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
