10 Actors Who Peaked Way Too Soon
8. Lindsay Lohan
Making the transition from child actor to adult is a difficult one, of this we are all aware. It’s tricky to explain why - burnout, the level of expectation, pure bad luck - but the list of performers who’ve succeeded as kids and grown ups is a small one.
Lindsay Lohan looked sure to buck that trend. She wasn’t just a good actor for a kid, she was a genuinely good actor full stop from a very young age. Overflowing with charisma, knowing without being annoying, capable of real subtlety - she seemed like a shoo-in for continued success.
This was all the more true in the aftermath of 2004’s Mean Girls, a modern classic with a superb leading performance. Then things went off the boil. Lohan’s personal problems are well documented and needn’t be dwelt on here - suffice to say a limitlessly promising career was swiftly cut short. Mean Girls was a hard act to follow, and life got in the way.
At 34 years old, Lohan certainly has a comeback in her, and with the tabloid spotlight no longer shining so bright, hopefully she’ll do just that.
