10 Actors Who Peaked Way Too Soon
2. Skeet Ulrich
In the mid ‘90s, Skeet Ulrich seemed poised to become the next movie heartthrob. With the looks and smouldering intensity of a young Johnny Depp, the world was his oyster. He was a decent actor, too, and more importantly he picked his projects well.
His first major role was in supernatural cult classic The Craft. That same year, 1996, he starred in Scream, where he played the love interest and - spoiler - eventual villain of the piece.
The latter especially was a major success, one of the great post modern horrors, and Ulrich excelled in the role of the jerkish boyfriend in both cases. He was so good looking and confident to boost that you could absolutely believe him as the entitled douchebag.
The major movie work fell away pretty quickly for Ulrich, who was by no means without talent, but just didn’t seem to get the break you’d imagine he would. He has fared better on TV, with a starring role on the somewhat forgotten Jericho, and has never been out of work. Still, he looked dead set for superstardom in his day.
