10 Actors Who Profited From Films That Ruined Careers

4. Julia Roberts - Mystic Pizza

Julia Roberts might not be quite the household name today that she once was - aside from her Oscar-nominated performance in August: Osange County in 2013 she hasn't appeared in anything notable for a while - but that hasn't stopped her from being worth well over $100 million. Mystic Pizza, the film which kickstarted Roberts's career, might not have performed well at the box office but it has since garnered something of a cult following and more importantly drew Roberts to the attention of Hollywood producers. Hit after hit followed, with movies like Pretty Woman and Notting Hill securing her title as Queen of the Rom-Com for years to come. The rest of the cast of Mystic Pizza weren't so fortunate, not least Annabeth Gish, who was actually Mystic Pizza's leading lady billed before Julia Roberts in the credits. Aside from an appearance in Kevin Costner's Wyatt Earp, Gish has largely been relegated to television work, most notably on the cast of The X-Files.
