When Juno star Elliot Page got death threats over Twitter, the LAPD took them seriously enough to send the social network a search warrant to investigate. With written threats, not to mention the phone call targeting Page that was made to the LA FIlm Festival that he was set to attend, you'd think that the Canadian actor must have done something really horrible.
Well, not exactly. As it turns out fans on social media were furious with the fact that Page was photographed with Alexander Skarsgard and they were rumored to be dating. Even though it wasn't true, some decided that Page taking Skarsgard 'off the market' was grounds for death.
The offending, deranged tweets threatened murder, "Be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant, or when you’re signing autographs."
Apparently, the people who sent these messages thought that not only did they have a chance with Skarsgard, but that he would be totally cool with dating someone who sends death threats. I somehow think he'd feel differently.
