3. Tom Cruise Wouldn't Do Top Gun: Maverick Without Real Stunts
Though the likes of the aforementioned Jason Statham could undoubtedly give him a run for his money, there's only one undisputed king of pulling off their own stunts in Hollywood... and his name is Tom Cruise.
Once again showing that he has very little time for digital shortcuts and will always opt to put it all on the line to capture the real deal instead, Cruise has gone on record to admit that, despite being excited to return to the cockpit for the incoming Top Gun: Maverick, he would not commit himself to the feature if CGI was brought into the mix. The star even strictly told producer Jerry Bruckheimer, "'I'll do it if...' meaning, I'm not going to do the CGI stuff.'"
From the few glimpses of the flick we've been treated to in trailers already, it's evident that Cruise has gone all-out to ensure the feeling of being strapped into a body-breaking fighter jet is captured on the big screen for real. So, buckle up, because whenever you see this almost-60-year-old superstar jolting around a cockpit in 2022, you better believe the digital wand has been left thoroughly on the ground.
