10 Actors Who "Stole" Their Performances Off Real People

10. Michael Sheen - Tron: Legacy

Who He Plays: Castor, Tron club owner Who He Really Plays: David Bowie Welsh thespian Michael Sheen is one of the most famously chameleonic actors working today, and it's allowed him to become part of biopic royalty - through his career, he's taken on a famed bunch of actual Brits (and one American), notably Tony Blair, David Frost and Brian Clough on film, and Dr. William Masters on television. Now renowned for playing real people, Sheen's first stab at a proper blockbuster allowed him to break free and create his own character. Still, Sheen chose to look to the real world again and channel the ultimate chameleon: David Bowie. "I was going for a sort of albino Ziggy Stardust," said Sheen about Tron: Legacy's Castor. "I liked the idea of him as a shape-shifter who keeps reinventing himself, and the obvious reference there has to be Bowie." As Castor the owner of the End of the Line club, Sheen is a man of multiple personalities, changing accents and mannerisms at the drop of hat for the mere sake of performance. It's a flamboyant display unseen elsewhere in Sheen's catalogue of work.
