When we think of movie stars, we often think of the red carpet premieres, the huge paycheques, the glitz, the glamour, and the all-round fabulous lifestyle.

What we don't think of are those cold winter nights on set, where the actors will often have to sit around, doing nothing, waiting for the crew to prepare the next shot.

It was this waiting around that almost made Kellan Lutz walk out on The Twilight Saga during the production of the two-part final chapter, with the actor recently revealing that he grew extremely frustrated with that part of the process, which, in turn, caused his passion for the job to diminish:

"As the other movies progressed and we just had to wait around, I almost didn’t do the Breaking Dawn movies because I was like ‘guys, mentally I need to be doing something’, and it was draining. I only have one life and if I only live to be thirty, I just spent a couple months [waiting on set]. My agent was like ‘but all the money you’re making?’ and I’m like, 'you can’t take it with you.' I really don’t care about the money. I’ve worked enough. I am grateful we did the movies, but it got to the point where my passion, the twinkle in my eye wasn’t there anymore, and that’s concerning when you fall out of love with what you do."

Now, it's easy for someone who's making a lot of money to say "I don't care about the money", but Lutz's comment is nonetheless a refreshingly candid take on some of the downsides of the Hollywood game.

And in the end, he did appear in all five Twilight movies - so clearly, he mustered enough willpower to see the franchise through. Either that, or he just phoned it in.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
