The second of the 'I turned down Han Solo trilogy' entries on this list goes to none other than Rocky Balboa himself, Sylvester Stallone. While Sly wasn't exactly offered the part, he makes this list for not even giving himself a chance. Coming off the monster hit Rocky, which Sly wrote and starred in, Stallone managed to get an audition for the role of Han Solo, but withdrew from the race before he even got to show his talents.

As stated in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Stallone explained how he turned up to the audition, but immediately got the feeling that Director George Lucas was not interested in him. Picking up the vibe of the room, Stallone immediately withdrew, telling Lucas "I would look like crap in spandex leotards and a ray gun. Guys in space don't have this face, I get it."

While the more violent scenes would no doubt have been up Sly's alley, it's hard to imagine him matching Harrison Ford's iconic humour. The love angle between Han and Leia also would also have played out a lot differently, with Stallone unlikely to have nailed the banter with Carrie Fisher in quite the same way as Ford.

Considering Sly's want to revisit older projects, one suspects that Stallone would have revelled starring in recent Star Wars films.. We probably would have seen more of Han, with Sly unlikely to request his character be killed off after one film as per Ford's request.
