8. Michael J. Fox - Surgeon (Doc Hollywood)
Michael J. Fox can do no wrong in my eyes - unless, of course, he's playing characters that don't fit him properly, of course. Such a case occurs in
Doc Hollywood (which you've seen if you've ever watched Pixar's
Cars, by the way), a movie where Fox tries to convince us that he's a hotshot surgeon from Tinseltown, only to ever really look like some kid who dressed up as a doctor for Halloween. It's not a great match, unfortunately. Your heart tells you to just go with it, 'cause it's Michael J. Fox, but it's a toughie to accept. So whereas Fox is good in the movie as always, you can't escape the feeling that they should've made him a hotshot in another profession or something. Actor, perhaps? He looks way too young to even be considered a hotshot surgeon, anyway, even if "hotshot" does imply that a character is both wisecracking and wise beyond their years.
