10 Actors Who Wouldn’t Talk To Each Other On Set
6. Christian Bale Found Chris Rock Too Funny - Amsterdam
Following on from his refusal to chat with Johnny Depp all those years ago, it turns out that Christian Bale also felt the need to keep his interactions with Amsterdam co-star Chris Rock to a minimum, too.
Instead of this being down to the fact that the two actors were playing rivals, though, the key reason behind this particular piece of ignoring actually had something to do with Bale's admiration of the comedy megastar.
As the star of David O. Russell's latest picture would eventually admit, the fact Bale was a "big fan" of Rock and his standup, coupled with the star making him laugh so damn much during the early stages of their time working together on set, soon led to Bale having to take a step back from his newfound friendship with his colleague.
Confessing that he felt himself slipping into becoming "Christian" when he should have been "Burt" due to Rock being so bloody hilarious, the actor politely told Chris that he had to isolate himself from the funny man in order to keep up his performance as war veteran doctor Burt Berendsen.
So, if you ever find yourself being blatantly ignored by the Oscar-winning sensation on set, just know that it's likely a movie-making case of "it's not you, it's me" more than anything else.
