Though Rosamund Pike was certainly already a well-known and respected actress prior to 2014, it was her starring role in David Fincher's Gone Girl which catapulted her to the A-list, netting her a Best Actress Oscar nomination in the process.

And though Pike has appeared in a number of broadly well-received movies since, not a single project she's been involved with post-Gone Girl has been a box office success.

Despite her solid work in the likes of A United Kingdom, Hostiles, Beirut, A Private War, and Radioactive, all 10 movies she's starred in since her Oscar nomination have tanked commercially.

At least she's just a fortuitous casting decision away from reigniting her movie career, and she's imminently set to star in Amazon's The Wheel of Time TV series.

But if she wants to bolster her cinematic standing, she could use a big hit in the near-future.
