10 Actors Whose Careers Never Rebounded

2. Taylor Lautner

Charlie Sheen
Lionsgate Films

Taylor Lautner is best known for being averse to wearing a shirt in the much-maligned, yet cult-like adored, Twilight franchise in which he played the werewolf-like creature (we don't actually like to refer to any of the cryptozoological creatures in Stephanie Meyer's works as their actual identities, as she has so little respect for them) Jacob. He competes with Robert Pattinson's vampire-like entity for the affections of Bella (Kristen Stewart), who actually is just as bored with either of them as her performance suggests.

No one was expecting much from the Twilight cast save Michael Sheen, who already had a respectable career in the U.K., playing former Prime Minister Tony Blair twice and nailing it out of the park. Stewart, surprisingly, gave a heartfelt turn in Adventureland and has moved well beyond her years suffering under Meyer's weak-as-hell writing. Robert Pattinson, famous for detesting his tween fans, served as David Cronenberg's muse for at least two major films so far.

For most, Twilight has become but a footnote. For Lautner, however, it was a summit. His career has gone nowhere since, his performance in 2011's Abduction was shredded by critics and his most notable appearances have been on television.

When your awards shelf is loaded only with Teen Choice statues and Razzies, you can't expect much of a future.
