10 Actors Whose Careers Went Downhill After They Won Oscars

1. Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody At the time of his win, Adrien Brody was the youngest person to ever receive the Best Actor Academy Award when he bagged it at just 27 for this dramatic turn in Roman Polanski's holocaust drama The Pianist. The youngest person ever. Now there's an achievement that sounds super-great when you say it out loud - one that will do wonders at parties and stuff when you casually mention what you do for a living: "Well, at the moment I'm just the youngest person to have ever won the Oscar for Best Actor. What do you do?" Brody, so giddy with his win, even forced Halle Berry to kiss him on stage at the ceremony. And this, I believe, is when the "curse" was passed on. Unfortunately for Berry, it didn't transfer completely or, like, cure her or. Like the flu, it was simply spread. So in the wake of his Oscar win, Adrien Brody decided to try to be an action man for a bit, with King Kong and Predators, and then there were lots and lots of ill-judged and very mediocre movies inbetween. As a result, people stopped associating Brody with a man with could make good decisions. And then the trailer for InAPPropriate Comedy hit the web, and we all knew that he'd lost it. The movie was directed by the guy from the "Slap Chop" adverts. How could the man who won an Oscar at age 27 be struggling hard enough to end up co-starring in a movie with Lindsay Lohan? But even before that, how did he end up in Giallo, or A Matador's Mistress, or pretty much every movie he did after The Pianist? It's been 13 years - you'd have thought another Oscar nomination might've come his way. Nope. So just remember, if you see Adrien Brody, don't kiss him. Like this article? Who have we missed?
