10 Actors Whose Credibility Has Suffered The Most In 2017 (So Far)

Last year saw Johnny Depp's credibility took a sizeable nosedive: his marriage to fellow actor Amber Heard fell apart over accusations of abuse, and Alice Through the Looking Glass - a sequel to one of the highest-grossing films ever - failed to make a dent at the box office. Depp, of course, spent most of the movie's runtime mugging for the camera, phoning in yet another forgettable, "quirky" performance.

2016 seemed to signal something of an "end" for Depp, who has spent the last decade or so riding on the coattails of other, better performances, playing a seemingly endless conveyer belt of truly insufferable characters.

But 2017 hasn't been good for the once beloved star, either, given that the fifth and final Pirates of the Caribbean movie recently failed to pull in anywhere near as much money as its predecessors, presumably signalling the end of the public's fascination with the franchise - and with Depp as the universally-adored heartthrob, too. Going by the tepid reaction, the actor's most famous character, Jack Sparrow, is old hat.

Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, Depp took to the stage at Glastonbury last weekend and made comments about killing Donald Trump, all of which were deemed to be super inappropriate. "I think he needs help," the actor said of the 45th President. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!
