10 Actors You Didn't Know Were Quitting

8. Denzel Washington

The iconic Denzel Washington has done it all and seen it all.

And it's this reality that has left the two-time Academy Award-winner pondering what is really left for him to achieve in front of a camera as he enters his late-60s.

The legendary figure has most definitely slowed down his output as a performer a touch over the last few years, only boasting three acting credits since 2018. And this can likely be attributed to the fact that the Training Day and Equalizer superstar is "looking to do other things" at this stage in his life.

Going further when speaking at the premiere of The Tragedy of Macbeth, Washington openly explained how he was looking for "challenges" whilst sitting "in the yellow leaf of (his) career."

And when revealing that it would probably take an "extreme challenge" for him to be interested in stepping back in front of the camera at this current moment, he'd confess that, outside of playing King Lear, "there's not that much left for me to do as actor."

It's worth noting that Washington is set to star in Equalizer 3 next year, but after that? There's every chance Denzel will finally turn his attention away from performing completely and focus solely on adding to his already impressive director/producer CV.
