10 Actors You Had No Idea Were In Horror Movies
Samuel L. Jackson was in The Exorcist III. Who knew?
It's no coincidence that so many beloved and famous actors got their start in horror movies, given that the genre is generally a lot less-reliant on star power, allowing young performers to cut their first equity checks as part of a doomed ensemble cast.
And while we all know that Kevin Bacon famously got his throat stabbed in Friday the 13th, Johnny Depp got sucked into a bed in A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Paul Rudd turned up in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, there are many actors you probably never even realised appeared in horror movies.
Earlier in their careers, long before they became household names, these 10 actors all made blink-and-you'll-miss-it, below the radar appearances in major horror flicks, whether part of the background scenery or in more overt supporting parts.
And so, if you do decide to watch any of these movies without first checking out the cast list, you'll likely be left completely gobsmacked if you spot these surprise appearances.
Thankfully in most cases the actors didn't embarrass themselves, even if by their nature these performances were largely more forgettable than anything...
10. Monica Bellucci - Bram Stoker's Dracula
More than a decade before she co-starred with Keanu Reeves in The Matrix sequels, Monica Bellucci made a fleeting, staggeringly sexy appearance in another of the actor's films, Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Bellucci shows up fleetingly in a few scenes of Francis Ford Coppola's sumptuous 1992 gothic horror film as one of Dracula's (Gary Oldman) scantily-clad brides.
Though her presence is certainly eye-catching enough, the low-lighting and frantic editing make it difficult to spot the actress specifically, especially as you're probably not expecting to see her.
Fun fact: this was Bellucci's first acting gig outside of her native Italy, and her only significant role in a Hollywood movie until 2000 when she co-starred in the thriller Under Suspicion.
