10 Actors You Totally Forgot Were In Harry Potter Movies
8. Paul Whitehouse
There are a number of characters who were completely cut from the Harry Potter movies, including Peeves the Poltergeist (who was supposed to be played by comedy legend Rik Mayall) and Ludo Bagman, who was never even cast. Others saw chunks of their scenes cut out (only to reappear in the Extended versions or as DVD Extras), while one was almost entirely cut in the editing room.
In an early cut of the movie, British comedian Paul Whitehouse - best known for his part in the Fast Show collective and more recently in The Death Of Stalin - was cast to play Sir Cadogan, one of the living portraits in Hogwarts. He was supposed to replace the Fat Lady as the guard of the entrance to the Gryffindor common room when her portrait was damaged, but he ended up cut out of the movie.
Or at least, mostly cut. In the sequence leading up to discovery of the Fat Lady hiding from Sirius Black, you can actually see the boisterous night running about in other portraits behind the concerned students.
