10 Actresses Whose Careers Went Downhill After Winning An Oscar

6. Catherine Zeta-Jones

Oscar Win: Best Supporting Actress, Chicago (2003) Looking back now, Catherine Zeta-Jones's reign as an A-list actress seems very brief, doesn't it? She first caught everyone's attention when she starred opposite Antonio Banderas in The Mask of Zorro. The success of that movie soon lead to more high profile roles in Entrapment, The Haunting, Traffic, High Fidelity, America's Sweethearts, and Chicago. All those movies came out within a five-year span. She would star in a couple more decent movies after she won her Oscar, but by 2007, she was already in the middle of her decline. Of course, marrying Michael Douglas and having two children most likely shifted her priorities, but you would think being an Oscar winner would find yourself in better movies than Playing For Keeps and Broken City. Last year, her role as Dr. Siebert in Steven Soderbergh's Side Effects proved that Catherine Zeta-Jones can still be sexy and compelling. At this point, she probably cares more about taking care of her children than anything else, but it's hard to believe that her days as a high-profile leading actress are completely behind her.
