When Helena Bonham Carter fell pregnant shortly before production began on 2007's musical Sweeney Todd, she didn't have to worry about being replaced by another actress, because the father of her child was none other than the film's director himself, Tim Burton.

As a result, Burton was able to ensure that most of Carter's scenes would be pushed to the front of the shooting schedule, all the more important given that the role of Nellie Lovett largely required her to wear flattering yet figure-hugging gowns and corsets.

To keep up the facade later in filming as her bump grew, low-key lighting and dark costumes were employed to disguise her stomach area.

Hilariously, though, Carter noted that keen-eyed viewers would still notice a distinct fluctuation in her appearance throughout Sweeney Todd depending on how pregnant she was at the time that a given scene was filmed.

She said, "Anyone who pays attention to my breast size will see there's no continuity...Because we didn't shoot it in order, I start off with huge breasts and then I walk upstairs and suddenly I've got tangerines again. It's melons to tangerines."
