10 Alternate Endings That Improve Movies

1. Blade Runner - The Entire Freaking Movie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-9ZgB6hDW0 Quite rightly, Ridley Scott's masterful sci-fi wasn't too well received upon initial release, because the studio forced Scott to add in a voiceover to clarify certain plot elements, and thinking they'd get away with not including it if it tested badly, Harrison Ford gave an intentionally bad performance that nevertheless did end up in the theatrical cut. Various aspects of the film are starkly different to the now-definitive "Final Cut", such as a more optimistic and clear-cut ending. The alternate ending, which was finally re-introduced into the film years later, suggests that Deckard himself might be a Replicant, as he stares at an origami unicorn, which is known for being a figure in the "dreams" of replicants. The ambiguity of this ending has sparked fierce debate ever since it was added into the film, and along with the countless other creative freedoms Scott was allowed on the Final Cut, made for a far more invigorating, spellbending and thought-provoking experience. No other film in cinema has been so despicably meddled with by a studio, but at least, unlike most, Scott was eventually allowed to tell the story the way he wanted to. What other alternate endings do you favour over the theatrical ones? Let us know in the comments below.
