6. Viggo Mortenson And Billy Boyd Made Out During Sam's Wedding Scene
The real hero of the whole trilogy has to be the bumbling but steadfast servant of the Ring Bearer, Samwise Gamgee. Through Moria and Cirith Ungol, this guy remained loyal to his master, never faltering despite his humble stature, or the short reach of his arm. So when at the end of it all, Sam finally married his buxom hobbit love, Rosie Cotton, fans of Sam were more than pleased for him.
The big kiss scene between Sam and Rosie, left actor Sean Astin somewhat awkward, however, given he had a wife. So as a means to make things more comfortable, Viggo Mortenson (Aragorn) and Billy Boyd (Pippin) stood off-screen to give a little moral support, waving and cheering when appropriate.
But all the festivities seemed to get the better of Mortenson. During one take, he decided to give Billy Boyd a big old smooch... much to the surprise of the crew. Sadly, we never got to see Aragorn and Pippin's romance in the movie, but perhaps we'll get an inter-human/hobbit relationship with the new Amazon series...
