1. Richard Parker Lives! And Delivers A Key Catchphrase...
Oh man. This one's a doozy. As you know, the new iteration of this franchise is incredibly focused on Peter's search for the truth about his parents' deaths, so much so that it takes up way too much screen-time in this installment. Regardless of how you feel about the success of that story arc, however, it's safe to say that all of their choices were waybetter than what they originally had planned. The script still included Peter quitting being Spider-Man, but instead of (finally) listening to Gwen's graduation speech and finding the inspiration to return to heroics, he's approached by... yep, you guessed it, his father. Richard Parker shows back up, alive and well, and tells Peter that he's been watching him for years, has seen him become Spider-Man, and convinces him to don the spandex again by telling him, "With great power, comes great responsibility." I don't know about you... but we'd take the film's original ending over Richard Parker's sudden reappearance any day of the week.
