10 Amazing Trailers That Tricked You Into Seeing Terrible Horror Movies

With most the trailers on this list, the marketers clearly went all-out showing off the best moments from the respective movies. In the case of Alien 3 though, all the studio needed was a voiceover guy and two lines to get audiences absolutely frothing at the idea of the sequel. Those lines being:

"In 1979, we discovered in space no one can hear you scream. In 1992, we will discover on Earth, everyone can hear you scream.”

Now, admittedly, that's a bit clunky but it still did the job. As teased, for the first time in over a decade the Aliens franchise would be coming home, and finally delivering on the apocalyptic scenario of the Xenomorphs rampaging through the streets that Ellen Ripley had spent two movies trying to prevent.

Of course, if you're reading this and struggling to remember this actually happening in Alien 3, you're not going mad. The sequel had a famously troubled production, with director David Fincher even to this day lambasting the time he spent on the flick. Reflective of this mess, the first trailer was put out before the film swapped out the story, resulting in a promise that never came true.
