10 Amazingly Profound Quotes About Life From Richard Linklater Films

6. Jeff - SubUrbia

Before Sunset
Sony Pictures Classics

"Anything is possible. It is night on planet earth and I'm alive. And someday I'll be dead. Someday I'll just be bones in a box, but right now, I'm not. And anything is possible. And that's why I can go to New York with Sooze because each moment can just be what it is. There's no failure, there's no mistake...

...It's all about fear and I'm not afraid anymore, man. F*ck it! F*ck fear!"

SubUrbia is one of the few fils of the bunch that Linklater didn't write himself, but so much of the dialogue has Linklater written all over it.

The film's most interesting character Jeff has many great things to say, some depressing as hell and others more uplifting. This one, thankfully is one of the latter, as he discusses the importance of living in the now. Anything is possible. Life is there to be lived and fear only stands in your way of doing so.
