1. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton Got Drunk For Real During A Scene & Hit Balls At The Catering Van - Fight Club
This isn't a subtle detail much as it's just impossible to know about unless you're told, given that the characters in the scene we're dealing with here are supposed to be drunk, and the actors playing them are... well, drunk. Yes, when a scene in David Fincher's mind-bending masterpiece Fight Club called for Brad Pitt and Edward Norton's characters to be drunk and hit golf balls, the actors decided it was probably just easier if they actually got drunk in real life. For some reason, Fincher okay'd this idea and shooting begin, whereupon Bitt and Norton proceeded to whack golf balls at the actual catering van that was being used in the movie. The scene looks amazingly realistic as a result of their being intoxicated in real life, and it's the kind of small detail that you remember when you go back to the movie and realise, "wait a second - not until do those guys have the best jobs ever, they also got to get drunk at work?" Jerks.
