10 Announced Movie Remakes That COULD Be Great

Though it was a box office flop upon original release, Highlander has remained a cult fave for the near-four decades since it hit home video, enough that it spawned four sequels of increasingly dubious quality and prolonged chatter about a possible remake.

A new take on the fantasy action-adventure IP has been floating around for the better part of 20 years, and though on paper it might seem foolhardy to remake something so distinctly of-its-era and so firmly beloved by its legion of fans, it all comes down to the cast and crew.

For starters, Henry Cavill has been cast to portray immortal protagonist Connor MacLeod, but perhaps best of all, the new Highlander is being directed by John Wick filmmaker Chad Stahelski, who has proven himself to be one of the finest action directors working today.

The possibilities feel basically endless with Stahelski staging the sword-swinging action, and from The Witcher we know that Cavill is plenty comfortable with a blade. 

Even if the story, which is reportedly being updated to a contemporary setting, isn't up to much, there's no way the action isn't going to be electrifying.
