10 Annoying Ways Movies Always Get Real Life Wrong

5. Brushing Teeth Without Toothpaste

You're not exactly at your sexiest when you're brushing your teeth, but even when an actor is supposed to playing a regular every-day Joe, they've still got to look good while cleaning their nashers. That means toothpaste in movies is a no go, because nobody, not even Chris Evans (okay, maybe Chris Evans) looks good when their mouth is covered in Colgate.

Likewise, it seems that the more high-profile the actor is, the less toothpaste they seem to use. Nobody wants the illusion of Tom Cruise's perfect superstar image to be messed up by him accidentally dripping toothpaste on his shirt, but it only serves to make him look even more like an alien in films when he's clearly brushing his teeth with water alone.

Look, nobody shambles into the bathroom on a morning and brushes their teeth as gracefully as characters do in movies, so unless an actor's face is dribbling with minty-fresh toothpaste, I can't buy them as real people.
