8. Harsh Conditions On Set
To call conditions on set grueling is an understatement. Day in and day out, director Robert Eggers and crew were slammed with cold weather and rain on location of Nova Scotia in Canada.
The cast weren't spared from the harsh conditions on set and if anything, endured even more from the physically demanding roles. Dafoe and Pattinson went on record saying how despite filming for a month they would barely speak to one another until filming ended.
The set was cold and damp, leaving talent and crew vulnerable to being sick after long exhausting days would leave them fatigued.
Productions like these are easy to feel demoralized and the breeding ground for conflict and tension, let alone working with vintage lenses that were literally irreplaceable and would jeopardize the entire production.
