While the Oscars will always be seen as the granddaddy of the movie awards shows, the Golden Globes are usually a little more fun to watch because they doesn't take themselves quite as seriously. They tend to take more adventurous gambles on their hosts, and for the second year in a row, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler cooked up a storm, ripping into Hollywood's elite and cutting them down to size. Some of the highlights of the night include a running gag about Matt Damon being a "garbage man", Matthew McConaughey accepting his award while appearing to be under the influence of...something, Emma Thompson taking to the stage with a martini in hand, Jim Carrey's gag about Shia LaBeouf and Jacqueline Bisset's painfully elongated acceptance speech. But as with any awards show, much of the post-show discussion includes talking about who was snubbed, and who unfairly won an award they absolutely didn't deserve. While most of these winners were deserving nominees, I'm not convinced that any of them should have scooped the win itself, as there were far more fitting choices available. Do you agree with the Globes or not? Let me know in the comments!
