9. Yashida's Funeral - The Wolverine

The Wolverine takes a little while to get to some meaty action, but when it does, it delivers in spades. When Yashida "dies", Logan attends his funeral, and it's not long before all Hell breaks loose when some Yakuza gangsters try to kidnap Yashida's granddaughter, Mariko. This results in a frenetic set-piece as Logan tears his way through countless gangsters with a wild ferocity, before being shot in the chest and discovering that his regenerative capabilities have been compromised by the Viper. The scene also gives us glimpses of both Yukio and Viper kicking ass before Logan ends up on a bullet train with Mariko. Here, he ends up atop the train, fighting off more Yakuza and appearing more vulnerable than ever before. It's a memorable set-piece precisely because it shows us Wolverine like we've never seen him.
