2. Metropolis Mega-Brawl - Man of Steel
Say what you want about Zack Snyder's take on Superman, but Man of Steel totally delivered on the action front, with Superman's final stand against Zod and his Kryptonian cronies resulting in an ungodly amount of property damage. When Zod attempts to use a terrforming engine to turn Earth into a new Krypton, Clark moves to action, and with the help of both Lois and Jor-El, is able to take down Zod's buddies, Faora and Nam-Ek. With humanity now firmly on his side and desperate for his help, Supes destroys the device, and heads into the final standoff against Zod. Fighting across Metropolis, Snyder's handle on the action is superb; the director's often excessive, even hyperactive style lends itself superbly to the violent intensity of the fight, and yes, Superman actually punches people this time around. The much-debated ending of the fight - in which Zod essentially forces Superman to snap his neck - is a stirring and potent point on which to end things, even if it did divide many audiences.
