10 Awesome Comic Book Movie Moments When Characters Received Power-Ups

7. Wolverine

He may now be the undisputed king of the X-Men franchise, having two semi-successful stand alone films to his name, but before he was given his adamantium skeleton he would have been a mediocre mutant at best. The metallic coating on his bones were quintessential to Singer€™s first two X-Men films, so this power-up is perhaps one of the most important in regards to the impact on the franchise. Although the X-Men Origins film was mediocre at best, the character went from an almost unstoppable soldier to an indestructible killing machine. This power-up made him far more dangerous; adamantium blades are far more efficient murdering weapons than bone claws. The X-Men films initially focused on Wolverine€™s mysterious past as he had lost his memory, as well as the inexplicable metallic skeleton that made him so unique. Although this power-up is what made him interesting in the X-Men universe, he was dangerous and powerful prior to this procedure; the montage from the start of origins showed his wartime valour and combat skill. In Days of Future Past, and The Wolverine, we were shown the capacity for ferocity by Logan€™s bone claws; the fact that he did not require adamantium claws to play an integral role in Days of Future Past shows that while this boost was phenomenal in making him a dangerous mutant, it was not the deciding factor in his ferocious fighting style, and it did not fundamentally alter Wolverine€™s inner character.
