10 Awesome Female Directors Who Need A Superhero Movie

1. Lexi Alexander

Lexi Alexander in fact already has some experience in the comic book realm, having directed 2008's gloriously, hilariously violent Punisher: War Zone, not to mention episodes of Arrow and Supergirl.

Though War Zone wasn't particularly well-received by critics, her direction absolutely wasn't the problem with the movie, and at least suggested she'd be a fine fit for a darker, more challenging superhero film, perhaps even with an R-rating.

If Deadpool 3 is ever in need of a filmmaker, she'd be a fine fit, that's for sure.

How Likely Is It?: Alexander hasn't made a feature film in seven years and works only sparsely in TV, so it's hard to say. Plus, the fact her filmography isn't exactly held in high esteem by critics makes her a tougher sell, even if she's a vocal advocate for women in the film industry and would clearly give her all to a passionate, female-driven superhero movie. 4/10
