Without a doubt, Duma will be the least known animal on this list, but hes an incredible creature, and no one can deny how cool it would be to have a pet cheetah. Duma is a gorgeous film and would have been far more successful had Warner Bros put more faith in the film, and invested in a wider distribution. Duma is an orphaned cheetah cub found by Xan and his father alone in the wilderness, struggling to survive. They adopt and raise him on their farm with the understanding that when the time is right, Duma will need to be reintroduced into the wild. After Xans fathers untimely death, Xan begins a journey with Duma into the South African wilderness to release his near adult cheetah back into the wild. Xan and Dumas friendship is pure and authentic. Theres a deep love and understanding between the two, a bond between man and animal that is far too rare nowadays. They are both lost and rely heavily on each other when they're at their most vulnerable, and it is a touching moment when Duma finds another Cheetah and Xan says his final goodbyes. In the film, you truly grasp the grace, charm and beauty of the cheetah. Duma is a noble and loyal creature, not to mention ridiculously cute. If you were going on a desert adventure, youd want Duma by your side.
