4. Karen Gillan Shaved Her Head To Play Nebula In Guardians of the Galaxy

We know that Doctor Who's Karen Gillan will be playing the villainous space pirate and mercenary Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy, and if anyone had dared to question her commitment to the role, they surely had those doubts quashed on Saturday night. During the panel for the film, Gillan appeared to be sporting her regular crimson locks as a fan asked whether she would be going bald for the role, at which point she remarked, "I might have done something a little crazy", before removing her redhead wig and revealing that she has, in fact, already shaved her head for the role. The reveal sparked massive applause in both Hall H and on Twitter, making it clear that those involved with the project were taking their roles seriously, even if we can't help but miss Gillan's signature red locks.
