Net worth: $200 million. Anyone who saw Mark Wahlberg in any promotional interviews for Pain and Gain could be forgiven for getting the impression that the actor was far from enthusiastic about being in the movie - his responses were monotone and his face impassive, as if he was there simply to do a favour for Michael Bay before pocketing $16 million for his role in the latest Transformers movie. Or perhaps this was simply a reflection of the man himself, as bland and inexpressive as many of the characters he portrays on screen. Either way, Hollywood and mainstream audiences alike seem to love him in movies, even though many of us recognised his obvious lack of talent way back when he strutted around on stage as front man of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. At his best he can just about hold his own, but all too often his charisma deficit gets in the way, sometimes to the detriment of the movie (Funny Bones is a fine example of this). As one of Hollywood's richest stars it's unlikely Wahlberg could care less about people who point out that his acting abilities are hardly up to scratch. Recently he's forked out a few mil for a mansion in Beverly Hills the size of a small village, although that investment barely put a dent in his net worth - after all, he's worth $200 million and counting.
