10 Awful Movies That Embarrassingly Made A Fortune

7. Little Fockers

Minions Movie
Paramount Pictures

Worldwide Box Office Gross: $310 million

As if Meet the Fockers wasn't bad enough, we were then plagued with the, thankfully, universally hated Little Fockers. It's not that surprising this ever got made to be honest. Meet the Parents is quite rightly highly regarded as one of Ben Stiller's best films, and Meet the Fockers was a huge box office hit, which - despite being lazy enough to rely on an unfunny surname for way too many gags - at least had its charms in the forms of Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand. However, Little Fockers is insultingly bad, and it tarnishes the good name of a once funny original comedy.

Many film franchises seem to think that adding child characters to the mix will keep the series feeling fresh, especially animated behemoths like Shrek and Ice Age, but Little Fockers can't get away with the same tiring gimmick, namely because the original film wasn't intended as a family film.

Put as many cute kids in a film as you like, they won't distract from once funny gags that have now become detestable. There's only so many times we can enjoy Robert De Niro's paranoid CIA schtick or rehashed jokes about elderly people still being sexually active.

Almost to add insult to injury, many of the film's stars have admitted to the film being poor too, most notably De Niro at the 2011 Golden Globes. Upon receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award he joked that he was thankful that he had received the award before they had the chance to see Little Fockers. But if the actors and filmmakers were really sorry for making us sit through that sorry mess of a film, they would give us our money back.
