6. Keddie Cabin Murders (The Strangers)
The Strangers is one of the creepiest movies I have seen to date. The reason being that these are killers that have no rhyme or reason to what they're doing. The only explanation they give for killing their victims is that because they were home. The only thing worse than a killer with an agenda is one that is doing it for no reason at all, whether it's just because they have fun doing it or some other sadistic reason. This movie was based off a few events. The first is something the director himself experienced when he was a child. In his neighborhood, a group of robbers would go door to door and give a random name of a person, asking if they were home. If the person answered the door, they knew that people were home and the house couldn't be robbed. If nobody answered, they knew that the house was empty and they would commit their crime. The other events that this movie is based off of is the Keddie Cabin Murders of 1981. These murders took place while a family was on a camping trip and everyone in a certain cabin was murdered one night, without any rhyme or reason. Other family members that had spent the night in other cabins were safe, but the four that were in that specific cabin were murdered. To this day, it is unknown why they were murdered, but maybe it was just because they were home. From a group of killers without a name to a murderer that was so obvious it's a surprise that he wasn't caught earlier...
