10 Bad Movies With Great Trailers

6. Terminator Salvation

Joker Suicide Squad
Warner Bros.

For years, fans of the Terminator franchise had been desperate to see the war between humanity and the machines realized on the big screen. As the old saying goes; be careful what you wish for.

Terminator Salvation is a blockbuster with some good ideas, but doesn't have a clue how to execute them. It speaks volumes about how forgettable the fourth installment is when Christian Bale's expletive-laden rant on set is probably what the movie is best known for. But for a while, it seemed as though the fan-base were finally getting the future-set war movie they'd been waiting for.

Action, suspense, mystery, intrigue and big f*cking explosions; the Terminator Salvation trailers had it all, and even decided to spoil what could have been the big twist right from the get-go. McG had never directed a good movie in his life up until this point, and kept his streak intact while also managing what many thought was possible; getting a poor performance out of Christian Bale.

Admittedly, a couple of the set-pieces hit all of the right notes and the late Anton Yelchin is a standout as the young Kyle Reese, but all in all Salvation marked another disappointing entry in a franchise still looking for its first great installment since James Cameron handed over the reins.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
