10 Best 2017 Movie Trailers

3. Logan

Spider-Man Homecoming
Fox

Release Date: March 2, 2017

The Trailer: If nothing else, the first trailer for Logan was an incredible surprise. The sequel's tone looks unlike anything we've seen Wolverine in before, and that's not a bad thing. The ominous nature of the Johnny Cash song combined with the bleak setting and heartfelt dialogue makes this trailer a piece of art in its own right.

We get our first look at R-rated Wolvie here too, with a brutal kill that sees him ram his claws through the skull of his unfortunate victim. More please! The only downside here is that the trailer may have spoiled Professor X's funeral with its closing shot, but only time will tell if this is the case.

The Movie: Hugh Jackman's final outing as the hairy, angry mutant, Logan is directed by James Mangold (who did a solid job with 2013's The Wolverine). The plot's been kept under tight wraps but we know it revolves around X-23, a young female clone of Wolverine, and Logan's mission to protect her.

It doesn't look like the action-packed superhero movie we were expecting, but it looks like a distinct movie in a genre where so many can start to blur together.
